Jennifer Whiteside has dedicated her career to fighting for the rights of working people. She has fought for better public healthcare and making sure people are treated fairly -- including leading BC’s first living wage campaign.

A former labour leader and community advocate, Whiteside was elected as the MLA for New Westminster in October 2020. She is the Minister of Mental Health and Addictions and previously served as the Minister of Education and Child Care. She was born and raised in New Westminster.

Jennifer knows that we all want to build a good life for ourselves and our families. That’s why she, David Eby and the BC NDP team are taking on today’s challenges with action to lower costs, build homes people can afford. and improve health care. Jennifer knows there’s more to do, and that we can’t afford reckless cuts to hospitals and schools like the ones John Rustad and his Conservative party say they’ll do again. There’s just too much at stake.
